Andrew Carron leads NERA and is based in New York. He formerly chaired the firm's Securities and Finance Practice. He specializes in securities and financial economics, focusing on fixed income instruments, derivatives, and risk management.

Prior to joining NERA, Andrew was Director–Global Risk Management at CS First Boston, where he was responsible for the oversight of risk exposure for his firm's trading activities in mortgage- and asset-backed securities, residential and consumer loans, and real estate. He also directed fixed income research for global bonds, emerging markets, and currencies for two years, while based in London.

Before joining the securities industry, Andrew conducted research on financial markets at the Brookings Institution. In addition, Andrew has served as a senior staff member on the President's Commission on Housing and was a consultant to the Federal Home Loan Bank Board.

Andrew holds a B.A. in economics from Harvard University and PhD, MPhil and M.A. degrees in economics from Yale University.
